Pamela's Yellow Cake 6.17.12

Very gummy!  The best color of any yellow cake I've tried, though.  Flavor was fine, but the texture was just too gummy.  The cupcakes were a nice shape.  The smaller ones I just filled with less batter.

Honey Ice Cream III 6.20.12

I reduced the honey amount this time and used half sugar.  I overcooked the eggs (a lot this time).  I should have mixed sugar with eggs before tempering with the hot cream.  Also, with a reduced amount of sugar, the eggs have a lower coagulation temp.

1 1/3 c milk
1 1/3 c heavy cream
1/4 c sugar
1/4 c honey
2 eggs
1/2 t vanilla

Next time, I might try reducing the egg amount.  The original recipe had less eggs, and I might go back to that.  Also, I used local eggs which might act differently in the ice cream. The ice cream tasted too eggy to me.

Banana macaroon

It was beautiful and had a perfect texture.  You can see the crisp crust and the chewy middle.  I don't really like banana flavoured things, so I wasn't into the banananess of it all.  They are smaller than Bouchon Bakery's macaroons.  I think I like the larger size better actually.

Cookies: Chocolate chip, Peanut butter chocolate chip,

Doughnut muffin:

Cupcakes: chocolate with buttercream and lemon with cream cheese frosting. Good texture and flavor.  Not as moist as Quebrada cupcakes.

Herbed sandwhich bread: The flavor was okay.  Texture was poor.  You can see how the bread is dense and settled at the bottom of the loaf.
