Luckily I had baked yellow cake and strawberry Haagen Dazs on hand. So I made some strawberry ice cream cake. Carvel cake is still my comfort cake from childhood, but the cake with yellow (non ice cream) cake is nice because you can let it defrost and the cake is room temperature, but the ice cream is still cold.
